The metal tube float flowmeter adopts the principle of variable area measurement for production and research, and is suitable for measuring liquids and gases. It has standard analog signal output and on-site indication of 0-10mA and 4-20mA. Metal tube float flowmeter is a commonly used variable area flow measurement instrument in industrial automation process control. The standard LZ series metal tube float flowmeter consists of a measuring tube and a local indicator. Local indicators can also be equipped with additional electrical components, suitable for measuring liquids and gases.


This flowmeter adopts the principle of variable area measurement, and the measuring component consists of a conical measuring tube and a float. The float can freely move up and down in the conical measuring tube, changing the flow area in the pipeline. As the flow rate changes, the vertical position of the float in the measuring tube also changes accordingly. The position of the float is transmitted to the dial of the indicator through a magnetic transmission system in a steel pipe, indicating the size of the flow value.


In M6, M8, M9 indicators, the rotation of the follower magnet is directly transmitted to the dial; In the M7 indicator, the rotation of the follower magnet causes the pointer to linearly indicate the magnitude of the flow rate value through a cam plate.

Structure of metal tube float flowmeter

1. High temperature structure (G-type)

High temperature structure type (G-type) is used for flow measurement of media with high or low temperatures that require insulation measures for the measuring tube. The high-temperature structure increases the distance between the measuring tube and the indicator to enhance heat dissipation and increase the thickness of the insulation material, ensuring that the indicator operates within the allowable ambient temperature range. Select the 'G' type.

The G-type metal tube float flowmeter can measure the flow rate of media with temperatures ranging from -80 ℃ to+300 ℃.

2. Structure with damper device (Z-type)

The damper structure type is used for measuring the medium flow rate when the inlet flow (pressure) of the metal tube float flowmeter is unstable, especially for gas measurement. Its structure is shown in the figure

3. Clamp type structure (T-shaped)

The jacket type structure is used for flow measurement of media that require heat tracing or cooling (such as high viscosity and easy crystallization). By heating or cooling the medium in the jacket, low boiling and low freezing point fluids are prevented from vaporizing and crystallizing.

The import and export connection of the heat tracing medium should use HG20594-97 DN15 PN1.6 flange for the standard type, and other flange specifications can be indicated by the manufacturer. The pressure rating of the jacket is 1.6MPa

4. High voltage structure (Y-shaped)

High pressure type structure is used for flow measurement when the measured medium pressure is greater than the standard pressure level. The high-voltage structure is shown in the following figure. The high pressure of FFM64 series can reach 32MPa. In addition, high-pressure flow meters can be provided with built-in magnetic filter types, with an installation height of 350mm. FA, FB, and FC types have a high pressure of 10MPa.
