What are the precautions for using high-pressure pumps
Date: 2025-09-22Read: 14
The use of high-pressure pumps requires special attention to four aspects: operating environment, operating standards, maintenance, and safety protection. The following are specific precautions:

1、 Operating environment requirements

  1. ventilation and heat dissipation
    • The self-priming high-pressure pump should be placed in a well ventilated area to avoid the motor from burning out due to overheating.
    • After use in cold winter, it is necessary to drain the accumulated water in the pump (such as removing the bottom plug for drainage) to prevent freezing and cracking; When conditions permit, antifreeze can be injected.
  2. Cleanliness of the medium
    • Clean water should be used for water supply, and a filter should be installed on the inlet pipeline to prevent foreign objects from being sucked in and damaging the pump body.
  3. pipeline connection
    • Ensure that all pipeline valves are open, medium can flow into the pump inlet, and exhaust the air in the system.

2、 Operating standards

  1. Pre startup inspection
    • Check the lubricating oil level of the crankcase (the oil level should not be lower than the marked line or 5mm higher than the marked line), and confirm that the power supply voltage is stable.
    • Check the water level in the high-pressure pump body (ensure sufficient water storage for self-priming pumps) to avoid damaging the shaft seal components due to idling.
    • Confirm that the spraying direction is safe and there are no personnel or obstacles blocking it.
  2. Operational parameter control
    • It is strictly prohibited to operate beyond the rated pressure, flow rate, and speed. For example, the instantaneous maximum pressure shall not exceed 110% of the rated pressure.
    • When adjusting pressure, it is necessary to operate slowly and use a safety relief valve to avoid equipment damage caused by sudden pressure changes.
  3. Shutdown procedure
    • First, open the safety relief valve to relieve pressure, and then turn off the motor after the pressure gauge returns to zero.
    • After the winter shutdown, the pump can be allowed to idle for 2 minutes to further drain the water and prevent freezing.

3、 Maintenance and upkeep

  1. regular inspection
    • Repair every six months, check for leaks at seals and pipe connections, clean the filter screen and cooling system.
    • Clean the air filter monthly and replace the oil filter every 200-300 hours (adjust as needed).
  2. Lubricating oil replacement
    • Replace the lubricating oil after 50 hours of initial use, and then replace it every 500 hours thereafter. Long term disuse treatment
    • After draining the accumulated water, store it in a dry and ventilated place, apply butter to key areas for rust prevention, and add lubricating oil to the bearings.
    • Disconnect the power supply during idle period, remove the positive terminal of the battery, and ensure that the carburetor is free of oil.

4、 Security protection

  1. Personal protective equipment
    • Wear gloves, safety helmets, and goggles during operation to prevent injury from high-pressure water or foreign objects splashing.
  2. Electrical safety
    • Ensure that the electrical neutral (ground) wire is firm and reliable to avoid the risk of electric shock.
    • Do not operate in a sealed room to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning from engine emissions.
  3. Emergency situation handling
    • Immediately cut off the power supply upon discovering overpressure, and notify the hydraulic press to shut down after the water level returns to normal.
    • When encountering pipeline leaks or valve failures, immediately stop the machine and close the relevant valves, and hang a "Do Not Operate" warning sign.

5、 Special scenario precautions

  1. Winter antifreeze
    • The accumulated water in the rear air pump can be further removed by idling for 2 minutes or blowing with air.
    • Check the pipeline patency before starting in the morning to avoid damage caused by blind opening.
  2. Forest fire high-pressure pump
    • Before use, check the engine oil and pump body oil level to ensure that the protective housing is installed properly.
    • Perform maintenance after working continuously for 50 hours, and then replace the gear oil (80-90W or above grade) every 100 hours thereafter.
