1、 Product Description

The destruction of materials by natural sunlight and moisture causes incalculable economic losses every year. The damage caused mainly includes fading, yellowing, discoloration, decreased strength, brittleness, oxidation, decreased brightness, cracking, blurring, and powdering. For products and materials exposed to direct or through glass windows, there is a risk of light damage. Materials that are exposed to fluorescent lamps, halogen lamps, or other luminescent lamps for a long time can also be affected by photodegradation.

Metal halide lamp aging test chamberIt is the ability to evaluate the thermal and optical effects generated by direct solar radiation on equipment used and stored outdoors without shelter. After the experiment, the appearance and working performance of the product are verified to evaluate whether the materials and components of the product can resist the requirements of outdoor solar radiation.

Metal halide lamp is a type of gas discharge lamp that utilizes metal halides to provide a spectral energy distribution that is very similar to direct and scattered light. This method is efficient and can produce a single illumination source effect by placing multiple radiation sources in a certain way. The spectral distribution of metal halide lamps is very similar to the sunlight received on the Earth's surface, but due to the large scale of metal halide lamps, they are mainly suitable for artificial light aging acceleration testing of large equipment such as automobiles, their components, and electrical and electronic products.

Select different testing methods and testing cycles according to different usage conditions. It is divided into program one cycle test and program two steady-state test, which can simulate 55~1200W/m2 test. The temperature range is from -40 ℃ to+100 ℃, and the humidity range is 10% -98% RH. It meets the solar radiation test under various temperature and humidity environmental conditions, providing strong support for outdoor testing of military and civilian products.

Compliant with standards GJB150.7A-2009, MIL-STD-810, EPA, DIN75220, etc., and can be specially designed according to other testing requirements of customers.

Light resistance test of indoor materials

Due to long-term exposure to fluorescent lamps, halogen lamps, or other luminescent lamps, products placed in retail outlets, warehouses, or other environments will also undergo significant photodegradation. It can simulate and reproduce the destructive light generated in such commercial lighting environments, and can accelerate the experimental process with higher intensity.

In addition to conducting photodegradation tests, adding water spray options can also be used as a climate aging test chamber to simulate the destructive effects of outdoor moisture on materials. The use of water spray function greatly expands the climate and environmental conditions that the equipment can simulate.

A light source that simulates the full spectrum of sunlight

The device uses a full spectrum metal halide lamp to simulate destructive light waves in sunlight, including UV, visible light, and infrared light. According to the desired effect, the light from a xenon lamp usually needs to be filtered to produce a suitable spectrum, such as the spectrum of direct sunlight, the spectrum of sunlight passing through glass windows, or the UV spectrum. Each filter produces a different distribution of light energy.

The service life of the lamp depends on the irradiance level used, with a typical lamp life of about 1000 hours. The replacement of the lamp tube is convenient and fast.

When you expose the product to direct sunlight outdoors, the product experiencesThe duration of light intensity exposure is only a few hours. Even so, the most severe exposure only occurs during the hottest weeks of summer. The device can accelerate your testing process because through program control, the device can expose your product to sunlight equivalent to summer noon 24 hours a day. The exposure experienced is significantly higher than outdoor exposure in terms of average light intensity and light hours/days. Therefore, it can accelerate the acquisition of experimental results.

Control of Light Intensity

Light irradiance refers to the ratio of light energy irradiated on a plane. The equipment must be able to control the irradiation intensity of light to achieve the purpose of accelerating the test and reproducing the test results. The variation of light irradiance can affect the rate of material quality deterioration, while the variation of light wavelength (such as the energy distribution of the spectrum) can also affect the rate and type of material degradation.

The irradiation of the equipment is equipped with a light sensing probe, also known as a solar eye, a high-precision light control system that can detect aging of the lamp tubeTimely compensate for the decrease in light energy caused by transformation or any other changes. The solar eye allows for the selection of appropriate light irradiance during the testing process, and even allows for the selection of light irradiance equivalent to that of summer noon sunlight. The solar eye can continuously monitor the irradiance in the irradiation room and accurately maintain the irradiance at the working set value by adjusting the power of the lamp tube. Due to long-term work, when the irradiance drops below the set value, a new lamp needs to be replaced to ensure normal irradiance.

The control of low irradiance is achieved by reducing the power consumption of the lamp tube and adjusting the matching characteristics of the light blocking plate, so that the internal irradiance can reach a relatively low level (55W/㎡) that meets at least 7 of the 8 conditions in GJB150.7A for cyclic testing (in GJB150.7A standard, only more than 4 test conditions are required).
