The destruction of materials by natural sunlight and moisture causes incalculable economic losses every year. The damage caused mainly includes fading, yellowing, discoloration, decreased strength, brittleness, oxidation, decreased brightness, cracking, blurring, and powdering. For products and materials exposed to direct or through glass windows, there is a high risk of damage from light. Materials that are exposed to fluorescent lamps, halogen lamps, or other luminescent lamps for a long time can also be affected by photodegradation.
