The outer diameter of the float and the annular area formed by the conical tube change with the position of the float. When the fluid flow rate stabilizes at a certain value, the float is also in a dynamic equilibrium state at a certain position, and the annular area between it and the conical tube remains constant. At this time, the float is subjected to three forces: the downward weight W of the float, the upward buoyancy F, and the fluid dynamic P, and these three forces reach equilibrium. According to the Bernoulli equation, force balance equation, and continuity theorem of fluid dynamics, the average instantaneous flow rate of fluid passing through the annular area can be calculated.

By installing a flow meter smart card that complies with the HART @ communication protocol inside the indicator, users can manage and adjust the HART @ instruments and monitoring process variables during operation using the HART @ communication software on a PC. Inside the float, there is a high-performance magnetic steel embedded, which generates a magnetic field around the float. When the flow rate of the fluid tends to stabilize and the float is in dynamic equilibrium, the magnetic field distribution around it also tends to stabilize. On the smart card of the flowmeter inside the indicator, there is a pair of high-performance magnetic sensors - Hall elements, which can accurately measure changes in the surrounding magnetic field, corresponding to the position of the float in millivolts (mV). The flow rate value of the fluid, the position of the float, and the millivolt value correspond one-to-one. Finally, the millivolt value is converted into a standard 4-20mA current signal (two-wire system) through the flowmeter smart card.

Instrument type and material

Pay attention to the following two points when using the instrument for the first time:
Liquid measurement: During the process of opening the valve, in order to avoid sudden opening of the valve, causing water head impact and damaging the instrument, it is necessary to slowly open the valve!
Gas measurement: Before opening the valve, do not pressurize the pipeline. Otherwise, if the valve (such as an electromagnetic valve) is suddenly opened, the float will rush towards the upper limit and may damage the instrument. Therefore, it is necessary to slowly open the valve!
The instrument for measuring gas can be equipped with a pneumatic damping device to minimize the oscillation of the float. To further ensure the stability of the float, a throttle valve or appropriate orifice plate can be installed at the outlet of the instrument.
For intelligent indicators with HART function, it is necessary to ensure that the electrical wiring is correct and checked before powering on. Otherwise, it is easy to cause measurement errors in the instrument; For button operations, be sure to follow the instructions and do not operate blindly, otherwise it may cause data loss or damage to the EEROM stored in the instrument.
