The Smooth Flow Sample Collector/Cap type Water Collector/Niskin Water Collector/Niskin Bottle is developed in collaboration between the German company HYDRO-BIOS and the Baltic Research Institute (IOW) in Wald, Germany.

This sampler stands outThe characteristic of the sampling tube is its "unobstructed flow" structure, where there are no conical or spherical valves at both ends that obstruct the flow of water through the sampling tube. The unobstructed flow sample collector is made of plastic (PVC) material, and the sampling tube does not contain metal. The closers at the end of the sampler are connected to each other through a sturdy rubber strip. When the sampler reaches the expected depth, the hammer falling from the cable will shut down the sampler.

The unobstructed water sample collector can be used for almost all multi-channel water sample collection systems (multi-channel water sample collector, Rosette, Carousel). The "smooth flow" design can effectively avoid delay effects, so the sample can be consistent with the data of the CTD probe. When operating a single sampler on a cable, we recommend using a middle mounting bracket to keep the sampler in a vertical position.

If a series of water collection work needs to be carried out on a cable, an additional hammer can be installed under each sampling cylinder. When the end closer of the previous water collector is closed, the hammer below it will be released, thereby triggering a series of sampling work along the cable.

The unobstructed water sample collector can be used for CTD water collectors from manufacturers such as HYDRO-BIOS/SeaBird.
