RO reverse osmosis pure water equipmentWorking Principle:
Reverse osmosis is a common phenomenon in nature, for example, when a cucumber is placed in saltwater, it loses water and becomes smaller. The process by which water molecules in cucumbers enter a saline solution is called permeation. If a thin film that only water molecules can pass through is used to divide a water tank into two parts, pure water and salt water are injected on both sides of the membrane to the same height. After a period of time, it can be observed that the level of pure water has decreased, while the level of saltwater has increased. We call the phenomenon of water molecules migrating into saltwater through this membrane permeation. The rise of saltwater level is not endless, it will reach an equilibrium point at a certain height. At this point, the pressure represented by the liquid level difference at both ends of the diaphragm is called osmotic pressure. The magnitude of osmotic pressure is directly related to the concentration of saltwater.
After the above device reaches equilibrium, if a certain pressure is applied to the liquid surface of the saltwater end, water molecules will migrate from the saltwater end to the pure water end. The phenomenon of liquid molecules migrating from dilute solution to concentrated solution under pressure is called reverse osmosis. If saltwater is added to one end of the above facility and a pressure exceeding the osmotic pressure of the saltwater is applied to that end, we can obtain pure water at the other end. This is the principle of reverse osmosis water purification. There are two key factors for producing pure water in reverse osmosis facilities: a selective membrane, which we call a semi permeable membrane, and a certain pressure.
Simply put, there are numerous pores on the reverse osmosis semi permeable membrane, whose size is equivalent to that of water molecules. Due to the fact that bacteria, viruses, most organic pollutants, and hydrated ions are much larger than water molecules, they cannot separate from the water phase passing through the reverse osmosis membrane. Among the various impurities in water, soluble salts are the most difficult to remove Therefore, the water purification effect of reverse osmosis is often determined based on the desalination rate The high or low desalination rate of reverse osmosis is mainly determined by the selectivity of the reverse osmosis semi permeable membrane. The desalination rate of highly selective reverse osmosis membrane elements can reach up to 99.7%.
RO reverse osmosis pure water equipmentIt is an important component of pure water production equipment. In order to ensure the long-term stability of the reverse osmosis system, pre-treatment is required for different inlet water qualities to avoid contamination or blockage of the reverse osmosis system due to poor water quality. For reverse osmosis systems, it is customary to divide the incoming water into groundwater, tap water, surface water, seawater, wastewater (reclaimed water), etc. These water bodies are affected by various factors, different geographical conditions, and different seasonal climates, resulting in different characteristics and impurities of the water bodies. Therefore, the reverse osmosis pretreatment process will also vary.
