What is oil absorption value?
The oil absorption value is obtained by slowly adding DBP (dibutyl phthalate) or various other liquids such as DOP and linseed oil to powder samples such as carbon black, pigments, and battery materials. The oil absorption value refers to the amount of oil consumed when stirring from a dispersed powder state into a ball while adding and stirring.
The function of oil absorption value:
It can reflect the compactness, surface morphology, particle size distribution, etc. of the powder structure. The finer the particles of the powder, the larger the surface area, the narrower the distribution, and the higher the oil absorption value.
