Overview

The microwave scintillation instrument designed and produced by German RPG company is combined with the BLS series large aperture scintillation instrument to form an optical and microwave scintillation system. It mainly consists of a transmitter, receiver, alignment system, mounting base, and waterproof chassis. Transmitting 880nm near-infrared and 1.86mm microwave beams, when the beams propagate in the atmosphere, irregular refraction (and absorption) of the beam is caused by fluctuations in atmospheric refractive index due to temperature, humidity, and pressure, which affects the intensity of the received beam.

It mainly consists of a transmitter, receiver, alignment system, mounting base, and waterproof chassis. Transmitting 880nm near-infrared and 1.86mm microwave beams, when the beams propagate in the atmosphere, irregular refraction (and absorption) of the beam is caused by fluctuations in atmospheric refractive index due to temperature, humidity, and pressure, which affects the intensity of the received beam. Based on the variance of the natural logarithm of the received light intensity, the structural parameters Cn2 and Cq2 of the air refractive index can be calculated. Combined with the theory of near surface similarity, the average water heat flux (H-sensible heat and LE latent heat flux) on a large-scale optical path can be obtained.
