Traditionally, diesel engines have been less favored by sedans due to their bulkiness, lower power output compared to gasoline engines (lower RPM), higher noise and vibration, and more severe emissions of soot and particulate matter (PM). But with the advancement of diesel engine technology in recent years, especially the new development of small high-speed diesel engines, a number of excellent technologies, such as electronic direct injection, common rail, turbocharging, intercooling, etc., have been applied to small diesel engines, which have effectively solved the shortcomings of the original diesel engines. The advantages of diesel engines in energy conservation and CO2 emissions are irreplaceable by all heat engines, including gasoline engines. Therefore, excellent small high-speed diesel engines have reached the European III standard for emissions and become "green engines". Currently, they have become the power unit of many new cars in Europe and America. It can be foreseen that more and more diesel cars will appear in China.
A regular diesel generator set is mainly composed of three parts: a diesel engine, a generator, and a control system. There are two connection methods for the diesel engine and the generator. One is a flexible connection, which connects the two parts with a coupling, and the other is a rigid connection, which connects the generator's steel connection plate and the diesel engine flywheel disk with high-strength bolts. Currently, there are more diesel generator sets on the market that use rigid connections. After the diesel engine and the generator are connected, they are installed on a common chassis and equipped with various protective sensors, such as water temperature sensors. Through these sensors, the operating status of the diesel engine is intuitively displayed to the operator. With these sensors, an upper limit can be set, and when the limit value is reached or exceeded, it can be set. At this time, the control system will give a pre alarm, If the operator does not take measures at this time, the control system will automatically shut down the unit, and diesel generator sets use this method to protect themselves.
