Working Principle:

A multi-stage centrifugal blower works on gas through a high-speed rotating impeller, adding mechanical energy to the gas to increase its velocity. 1. Let's start with the working principles of Roots blower and multi-stage centrifugal blower

Roots blower is a type of positive displacement fan that relies on the rotation of the impeller to achieve air transmission. There is always a small gap between the impeller and the inner wall of the casing, between the impeller and the wall panel, and between the impellers of the Roots blower. In this way, under the drive of the synchronous gear, gas can be transported from the inlet of the Roots blower along the inner wall of the Roots blower housing to the outlet side.

The working principle of multi-stage centrifugal blower is similar to that of centrifugal ventilator. The high-speed rotation of the rotor drives the air to move at high speed, and centrifugal force is used to make the air flow along the involute shape of the casing towards the outlet of the fan.

2. The working parameters and usage locations of Roots blower and multi-stage centrifugal blower are different. Roots blower belongs to constant flow volumetric blower, and the main working parameter is air volume. The output pressure of the Roots blower varies with changes in the pipeline and load, while the air volume changes very little. Centrifugal blower belongs to constant pressure blower, and its main working parameter is pressure. The output air volume varies with the changes in pipeline and load, and the pressure change is not significant. Therefore, if the load requires a constant flow effect, Roots blower is the preferred choice. If the load requires constant pressure effect, centrifugal blowers are even better.
