The drum conveyor is mainly composed of rollers, frames, brackets, and driving parts. The rollers and drum conveyor rely on the friction between the rotating rollers and the objects to move them forward. According to its driving form, it can be divided into non powered roller conveyor and powered roller conveyor. In power drum conveyors, the method of driving the rollers is generally not through individual driving, but through group driving, commonly using a combination of motors and reducers, and then driving the rollers to rotate through chain transmission and belt transmission.
Structural form of drum conveyor: It can be divided into powered drum line and unpowered drum line according to the driving mode, and can be divided into horizontal conveying drum line, inclined conveying drum line, and turning drum line according to the layout form. Special designs can also be made according to customer requirements to meet the needs of various customers. The width inside the standard drum line is 200, 300, 400, 500, 1200mm, etc.

Roller conveyors are suitable for transporting various types of boxes, bags, pallets, and other goods. The power roller line considers the tensile strength of the chain, and the longest single line length generally does not exceed 10 meters. In the application of gravity drum conveyors, the use of open or steel shielding covers can avoid increasing the friction of bearings. Although the application temperature of bearings can reach up to 170 ℃, steel shielded bearings cannot be used at temperatures exceeding 100 ℃ because the shielding cover will deform. When outside the range of 0 ℃ to 65 ℃, special lubrication issues need to be considered. In higher temperature applications, the interval between conveyor belt loads should be increased and moved quickly to reduce the absorption of drum heat. And it's best to have a heat dissipation device with a drum. The load capacity of the drum is determined by the bearing load capacity and the width of the drum. The basic bearing load capacity is determined by empirical formulas and experimental tests. And it is rated based on narrow width conveyors. If the width increases, the load capacity of the drum will decrease due to the deformation of the shaft. The load capacity of a gravity type drum conveyor is closely related to the selected components, depending on the combination of the electric drum, skeleton, and bracket. Due to different processing shapes, there are three assembly methods: direct pressing, curling, and forming. The drum assembly on the skeleton track can be higher or lower than the skeleton, depending on the application requirements. If the drum is lower than the skeleton track, the skeleton track can be used as a guide rail without the need for additional safety barriers; But if a wider load is used, it cannot be used because the load will interfere with the skeleton. The way in which the drum is relatively higher than the skeleton, and a safety fence is installed separately, is more elastic in application. The common types of skeleton include channel steel, L-shaped steel, or flat plate forming. Divided by forming methods, it can be divided into bending forming and structural steel. Structural steel has a heavier weight and better strength, and is used for heavy loads. Usually, the same steel is used on both sides of the conveyor, welded or bolted with support beams. However, for certain applications with specific requirements, the form of the skeleton on both sides may not be the same. Equipped with more rollers, it has better conveying and load capacity, and has better tracking performance when turning. In addition, this structure also has a module designed in the form of three skeleton fishbones, which has the ability to automatically align the center and track, allowing the load to move on the centerline of the conveyor.

The bottom condition of the conveyed material; 4. Are there any special working environment requirements (such as humidity, high temperature, chemical impact, etc.); 5. Conveyors are either non powered or motor-driven. To ensure smooth transportation of goods, there must be at least three rollers in contact with the conveyed material at any time. When necessary, soft bag packaging should be transported on pallets. 1. Length selection of drum: For goods of different widths, a drum suitable for the width should be selected, generally using "conveying material+50mm". 2. Wall thickness and shaft diameter selection of the drum: The weight of the conveyed material is evenly distributed to the contacting drums, and the required load-bearing capacity of each drum is calculated to determine the wall thickness and shaft diameter of the drum. 3. Drum material and surface treatment: Determine the material and surface treatment (carbon steel galvanized, stainless steel, blackened or coated) used for the drum according to the different conveying environments. 4. Choose the installation method of the drum: According to the specific requirements of the overall conveyor, choose the installation method of the drum: spring press in type, internal tooth shaft type, full flat tenon type, through shaft pin hole type, etc.
For the conical drum of the bending machine, the width and taper of the rolling surface depend on the size of the cargo and the turning radius.
