Overview

There are many reasons that can affect product aging, such as exposure to light, high and low temperatures, humidity, corrosion, and so on. Product aging is an irreversible change that is a common problem with materials. By studying the aging process of materials and taking appropriate anti-aging measures, the aging resistance of materials can be improved, the aging rate can be delayed, and the service life can be extended. Zhongke Testing is a third-party inspection, testing, and certification organization under Guoke Holdings. It has passed the qualification certification of inspection and testing institutions (CMA) and the laboratory accreditation of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and has the qualification and ability to conduct product aging experiments. Specific costs and cycles can be consulted with Zhongke Testing engineers.

Product Details

During the processing, storage, and use of materials, their performance gradually deteriorates due to the combined effects of internal and external factors, resulting in the loss of their practical value. This phenomenon is called aging.

Product aging experimental institution

Zhongke Testing is a third-party inspection, testing, and certification organization under Guoke Holdings. It has passed the qualification certification of inspection and testing institutions (CMA) and the laboratory accreditation of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and has the qualification and ability to conduct product aging experiments. Specific costs and cycles can be consulted with Zhongke Testing engineers.

Product Aging Test Method

1. UV aging

Using fluorescent ultraviolet lamps as the light source (with different types of UVA and UVB lamp sources), the material is subjected to accelerated weather resistance tests by simulating the ultraviolet radiation and condensation in natural sunlight to obtain the results of the material's weather resistance.

2. Salt spray aging detection

Salt spray test is an environmental test that mainly uses artificial simulated salt spray environmental conditions created by salt spray testing equipment to assess the corrosion resistance of products or metal materials. It can be divided into two types: natural environment exposure test and artificial accelerated simulation test, among which neutral salt spray test, acetate salt spray test, copper salt accelerated acetate salt spray test, and alternating salt spray test belong to the artificial simulation category.

3. Ozone aging detection

Ozone aging is the process of exposing a sample to air with a constant concentration of ozone and a constant temperature test chamber in a sealed and unlit environment. The test is conducted for a predetermined period of time to evaluate the sample's resistance to ozone aging based on the degree of cracking or other performance changes that occur on the surface of the sample. There are two types of testing: static stretching and dynamic stretching.

4. Damp heat aging detection

Damp heat aging testing is suitable for products that may be used in warm and humid environments. Humidity testing, constant damp heat, and alternating damp heat are reliability tests that test a product's ability to adapt to warm and humid environments. Inspect the physical strength, chemical properties, insulation material properties, electrical short circuits, metal material oxidation and corrosion, plasticity, accelerated chemical reactions, electronic component degradation, and other phenomena of the product.

5. Xenon lamp aging detection

Xenon lamp aging test is to evaluate the ability of outdoor equipment used and stored without shading to withstand solar thermal radiation and optical effects. This is an experiment conducted on products and their manufacturing materials exposed to sunlight. Solar radiation can cause photochemical and thermal effects. In most cases, this test can replace the high-temperature test. The impact of solar radiation on the use or outdoor storage of products or related materials can be tested through sunshine tests.

6. Carbon arc lamp aging detection

Carbon arc lamps are divided into two types: enclosed carbon arc lamps and sunlight type carbon arc lamps. These two types of carbon arc lamps were both used in early equipment. The former was initially used for testing the light resistance of textiles, while the latter was used for testing the light resistance of coatings.

7. Cold and hot shock test (temperature shock, rapid temperature change)

Cold and hot shock testing involves alternately exposing the test sample to low and high temperature air (or a suitable inert gas) to withstand the effects of rapid temperature changes. Used to determine the ability of components, equipment, and other products to withstand rapid changes in environmental temperature.

8. Gas corrosion detection

The oxygen, humidity, temperature changes, and pollutants contained in the gas are important causes of corrosion in products. Under certain temperature and humidity conditions, using harmful gases such as H2S, SO2, NO2, Cl2 to accelerate corrosion of materials or products, and testing the degree of damage suffered by materials or products within a certain time range. Assessing the gas corrosion resistance of materials and protective layers, as well as comparing the process quality of similar protective layers, can also be used to assess the gas corrosion resistance of certain products.
