How to maintain and upkeep a diesel self-priming pump
Date: 2025-05-13Read: 10
The maintenance of diesel self-priming pumps needs to start from multiple key aspects, and the following are specific measures:
1、 Daily inspection and start-up preparation
Check the sealing and connection
Confirm that there is no looseness at the pump body and pipeline connections, and that the seals are intact to prevent leakage.
Rotate the pump shaft by hand and check if it runs smoothly without any jamming.
Lubrication and oil level management
Add lubricating oil into the bearing body to ensure that the oil level is at the centerline of the oil gauge, and replace or replenish the lubricating oil in a timely manner.
Replace the lubricating oil after 100 hours of initial operation, and then replace it every 500 hours thereafter.
Irrigation, water intake and start-up process
Unscrew the water inlet plug of the pump body, inject water or slurry, and ensure that the pump is filled with liquid.
Close the gate valve and pressure gauge of the outlet pipeline, jog the motor to check if the direction of rotation is correct, and gradually open the gate valve after starting.
2、 Operation monitoring and parameter adjustment
Flow and head control
Maintain flow and head within the labeled range, avoid overloading operation, and ensure high efficiency and energy conservation.
Temperature and pressure monitoring
The bearing temperature shall not exceed the ambient temperature of 35 ° C and shall not exceed a maximum of 80 ° C.
Observe the readings of the pressure gauge and vacuum gauge to ensure stability before administering normal infusion.
Abnormal situation handling
Immediately stop the machine for inspection upon discovering abnormal sounds or vibrations, and investigate for cavitation, blockages, or mechanical failures.
3、 Regular maintenance and component replacement
Cleaning and scaling prevention
Regularly clean the inside of the pump body and suction port to prevent scaling and accumulation of debris, using professional cleaning agents and tools.
Seal and filter maintenance
Replace the sealing ring annually to prevent leakage; Regularly clean the filter and keep it unobstructed.
Mechanical seal and bearing inspection
Regularly check whether the mechanical seal is intact and replace it promptly if any damage is found.
Check the lubrication condition of the motor bearings and add oil or replace them if necessary.
4、 Shutdown and long-term storage
Shutdown operation
Close the gate valve and pressure gauge before stopping the motor to prevent water hammer damage.
Antifreeze and Rust Prevention
After parking in the cold winter season, drain the pump body medium to prevent freezing and cracking.
When not in use for a long time, disassemble the pump body, dry off the water, and apply grease to protect the rotating parts.
storage environment
Store in a well ventilated and dry place, avoiding direct sunlight and pollution.
5、 Electrical Systems and Safety
Electrical inspection
Regularly inspect the electrical system to ensure that the wiring is in good condition, the switches are functioning properly, and to avoid safety hazards.
safe operation
Strictly prohibit air transportation to prevent mechanical damage; Install check valves to prevent water hammer.
Professional repair
Electrical faults or complex issues should be handled by professionals to avoid self repair.
