Selection and matching of drying machine

Determine drying process based on crop type and quantity
Different types of crops can use drying machines with different principles and structures. Due to different requirements for productivity and precipitation amplitude, the drying process is first determined while ensuring seed quality. The common drying process is drying, slow drying, and cooling. However, for different seeds under different moisture conditions, parameters such as drying heating time, soaking time, hot air temperature, seed temperature, and hot air volume should be adjusted appropriately. That is, different drying processes and dryers should be selected. If there are many seed varieties, few quantities, or scattered storage, small batch type circulating dryers or small mobile dryers should be selected. If the variety is single, the quantity is large, and the drying period is short, large continuous dryers should be selected. When the moisture content of the seeds is too high to reach safe water at once, a secondary drying process can be used. The temperature of the hot air in the dryer and the temperature at which the seeds are heated are key factors in ensuring seed quality. In recent years, due to the emphasis on seed quality and color requirements, reducing the temperature of the hot air appropriately can improve the grade of the dried seeds.
Determine the productivity of the dryer based on the service radius
The equipment of the dryer should be large rather than small. Because in most cases, drying machines are only used during the harvest season when there is a rainy season or high seed moisture, resulting in a large drying capacity and low productivity, which cannot solve the problem. Large and medium-sized drying machines should be equipped in areas with concentrated seed breeding. The service radius of a fixed dryer should be small rather than large to reduce transportation distance, lower costs, and improve efficiency. Mobile drying machines can be used in rural and southern areas where seed production is not concentrated, with a production rate of generally 1-3t/h. If it is too small, the drying process will be too slow. One machine is versatile, not only suitable for seeds, but also for some economic crops. The service radius should be large in order to fully utilize the function of the mobile dryer.
The configuration of large, medium, and small drying machines should be comprehensively analyzed, and the productivity of the drying machine should be determined based on the number of dried seeds, precipitation amplitude, and precipitation rate during the drying period.
Choose a dryer based on environmental conditions
Due to the different harvest seasons of various crops, temperature differences during drying in the north and south, and other factors, it is necessary to consider the drying effect and operating costs.
