How to ensure safety and accuracy during the operation of corn wind screen cleaning equipment
Date: 2025-09-30Read: 22
During the operation of the corn wind screen cleaning machine, ensuring safety and accuracy requires systematic management from four aspects: pre operation preparation, monitoring during operation, safety protection measures, and emergency response mechanisms. The following are specific measures:
1、 Preparation before operation: comprehensive inspection to eliminate hidden dangers
Equipment status check
Structural integrity: Check whether the cleaning machine casing, screen mesh, fan blades, and transmission components (such as belts and chains) are intact, without cracks, looseness, or deformation.
Electrical system: Confirm that the motor and control cabinet are well grounded and have an insulation resistance of ≥ 0.5M Ω; check whether the circuit is aging or damaged to avoid short circuits or leakage.
Lubrication system: Check whether the oil level of the bearings and gearbox is within the normal range (at 1/2-2/3 of the oil gauge), and whether the oil quality is clean and free of impurities.
Air duct and sieve: Clean up any remaining corn cobs, broken leaves, and other debris in the air duct to ensure smooth airflow; Check that the sieve mesh (such as fish scale sieve, punching sieve) is not blocked or damaged, and the aperture meets the cleaning requirements.
Material and Site Preparation
Material screening: The impurity content of corn should be ≤ 5%, and the moisture content should be controlled at 12% -15% (too high can easily stick to the sieve, too low can easily produce dust).
Site cleaning: Ensure that there are no flammable materials or obstacles within 5 meters around the equipment, and that the passage is unobstructed; The ground is flat to prevent equipment vibration and displacement.
Safety signs: Warning signs such as "Do not touch", "Beware of mechanical injury", and "Dust mask must be worn" should be posted at equipment entrances, transmission components, electrical control boxes, and other locations.
Personnel training and protection
Operation training: Operators need to receive professional training, familiarize themselves with equipment structure, performance, and operating procedures, and master emergency shutdown methods.
Personal protection: Wear a safety helmet, dust mask, goggles, and anti smashing work shoes; Long hair should be tucked into a safety helmet, and wearing scarves or gloves (when near rotating parts) is prohibited.
2、 Monitoring during operation: real-time observation and timely adjustment
parameter monitoring
Motor current: Check every 15 minutes and do not exceed 85% of the rated current. If the current suddenly increases, immediately reduce the feeding amount or stop the machine for inspection.
Fan air pressure: Monitor the stability of the air pressure through a pressure gauge (usually 0.8-1.2kPa). If the air pressure is too low, it may cause incomplete cleaning, and if it is too high, it may blow away qualified seeds.
Screen surface vibration: Observe whether the screen body vibration is uniform, without abnormal shaking or deviation; If the screen surface is blocked, stop the machine for cleaning.
Discharge outlet: Check the separation effect of light impurities (such as broken leaves and corn cobs), heavy impurities (such as stones and soil blocks), and qualified grains, and adjust the air volume or screen inclination angle in a timely manner.
Feed control
Uniform feeding: Use a screw conveyor or vibrating feeder to control the feeding speed and avoid material accumulation that may cause screen overload or fan blockage.
Prohibited from mixing foreign objects: Metal blocks, wooden blocks, woven bags, and other uncleanable objects are strictly prohibited from entering the equipment to prevent damage to the screen or fan blades.
exception handling
Abnormal sound/vibration: Immediately stop the machine and check if it is caused by loose screen mesh, damaged bearings, or unbalanced fan impeller.
Dust leakage: Check whether the dust removal system is operating normally, whether the sealing components are aging, and replace damaged sealing strips or dust removal bags in a timely manner.
High temperature: If the bearing temperature exceeds 70 ℃, it is necessary to shut down for cooling and replenish lubricating grease; Check if the cooling fan is running properly when the motor temperature is too high.
3、 Security measures: Multiple safeguards to reduce risks
Mechanical protection
Transmission component protection: Install protective covers on rotating parts such as pulleys, chains, and couplings, with a distance of ≥ 50mm between the protective cover and the rotating parts.
Screen protection: The screen frame should be firm to prevent particles or debris from splashing and injuring people after the screen breaks.
Inlet protection: Install openable protective doors to prevent personnel from accidentally touching rotating parts inside the inlet.
Electrical safety
Grounding protection: Ensure that the metal casing of the equipment is reliably grounded with a grounding resistance of ≤ 4 Ω.
Leakage protection: Install a leakage circuit breaker with an operating current of ≤ 30mA and an operating time of ≤ 0.1s.
Emergency stop device: Set emergency stop buttons in the control cabinet and equipment easy to operate positions to ensure that the power can be quickly cut off in emergency situations.
dust control
Dust removal system: equipped with pulse bag dust collector or cyclone dust collector to ensure dust concentration ≤ 10mg/m ³ (below occupational exposure limit).
Ventilation design: The working area of the cleaning machine should maintain good ventilation to prevent dust accumulation from causing explosions or occupational diseases.
4、 Emergency response mechanism: rapid response, reducing losses
Emergency Response Plan
Fire/explosion: equipped with dry powder fire extinguishers or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, regularly checked for expiration date; No open flames are allowed around the equipment, and a "No Smoking" sign should be set up.
Personnel injury: The operation site is equipped with a first aid kit, which includes items such as tourniquets and disinfectant gauze; Regularly organize emergency drills to ensure that personnel master first aid skills.
Equipment malfunction: Develop a troubleshooting flowchart to clarify the steps for handling common malfunctions such as screen blockage and fan abnormal noise.
Shutdown and Maintenance
Normal shutdown: Stop feeding first, and turn off the fan and motor after the screening surface material is emptied; Clean up residual materials inside the equipment to prevent mold or corrosion.
Emergency stop: After pressing the emergency stop button, immediately cut off the power and hang a "Do Not Close" warning sign; Before maintenance, power outage procedures must be completed and a dedicated person must be assigned to supervise.
Maintenance safety: When entering the equipment for internal maintenance, it is necessary to obtain a hazardous work permit and wear protective equipment such as gas masks and safety belts; Use safe voltage below 36V for lighting.
Maintenance Record
Establish equipment operation logs to record daily operating time, feed volume, parameter adjustments, and abnormal events.
Regularly analyze and maintain data, replace vulnerable parts (such as screens and bearings) in advance, and extend the service life of equipment.
