What is a "sanitary" explosive disc?

Sanitary bursting discs must maintain similar sanitary quality to production facilities in the biotechnology, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Unhygienic bursting discs and bursting disc fixtures may collect unwanted media or bacteria, leading to batch destruction, production downtime, and irreparable damage to customer confidence.

AD-H explosive disc

Flat composite material, forward acting sanitary tray

Design overpressure protection and/or vacuum protection for atmospheric containers; Compliant with 3-A standard, designed for one-time installation to support CIP process.

Provide low burst pressure, ranging from 0.5 psi (35 mbarg) to 15 psi (1034 mbarg).

No special bursting disc support is required (installed between the matching flanges).

Partial vacuum rating without vacuum support.

Electric polishing option: a method of creating a super smooth surface using mild acid and low voltage electricity, which greatly reduces the area of culture medium or bacterial aggregation.

Passivation option: A method of removing any small carbon traces (which may cause rust or corrosion) during the production process of explosive discs.

Pollution free packaging: Quality control hygiene packaging ensures that pollutants do not transfer to the bursting disc.

Disk material: The material used is usually stainless steel or Hastelloy to match the materials of the rest of the facility.
