ag-machIndustry NewsThe first stop of the New Farmers' Conference explores the intelligent development of farmland management in Northwest China
How can large-scale planting become possible in today's world of continuous labor loss and frequent extreme weather events?
On March 18th, the Next Gen Farmer Conference officially kicked off in Yuli County, Bazhou, Xinjiang. This is a long-term technology empowerment platform created by Jifei Technology for global agricultural producers, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of agricultural producers. Through real-life training and field verification, complex cutting-edge technologies are transformed into methodologies that farmers can understand and use, bringing practical, efficient, and practical smart agriculture solutions to the vast number of farmers.
As the first stop, the Bazhou New Farmers' Conference focuses on the intelligent upgrading of water and fertilizer management in farmland in northwest China, and deeply dissects the complete path from crop planting management to improving operational efficiency. Frontline planting representatives, technical experts, and outstanding farmers exchanged ideas on the same stage, exploring practical experience in intelligent management of water, fertilizer, and medicine around typical crops such as cotton, corn, grapes, and fruit trees, helping farmers reduce costs and increase income, and enhancing agricultural quality and efficiency.
Gong Qiqin, co-founder of Jifei, gave a keynote speech on "Continuous Evolution of Intelligent Farms"
Pain points in agriculture in the northwest region
The four intertwined dilemmas of water, soil, people, and sky
The constraint of water resources is the fundamental development ceiling that lies in front of agriculture in Northwest China. The northwest region is located deep inland, with scarce precipitation and vigorous evaporation, making agricultural production highly dependent on irrigation. Traditional flood irrigation causes serious waste, and even with the popularization of drip irrigation facilities, hidden waste is often caused by a lack of refined management and unstable water pressure. At the same time, the problems of soil salinization and desertification make the ability to retain water and fertilizer inherently insufficient. Overreliance on chemical fertilizers not only increases costs, but also overdraws land production capacity.
The continuous loss of labor and high labor costs make it difficult for traditional farming models to continue. During the busy farming season, there is a large shortage of labor force, and the experience of the older generation of farmers' "management based on intuition" cannot be replicated in large-scale planting of thousands of acres. In addition, the frequent occurrence of extreme weather conditions such as late spring cold and dry hot winds has added greater uncertainty to the already fragile production system of agriculture in Northwest China. Farmers find it difficult to make timely and scientific decisions and are often forced to sacrifice production for stable yields.

Ensure stable and high yields on barren land
The traditional extensive model relying on manpower, sweat, and experience is no longer suitable for the development needs of northwest agriculture in the new era. The key to solving the problem lies in the intelligent transition of water, fertilizer, and medicine management.
The overall solution of Jifei Smart Agriculture solves the constraints of water resources through precise water and fertilizer management, adapts to diverse lands with standardized equipment and solutions, fills the labor gap with remote automation management, and enhances disaster resistance through real-time data monitoring and scientific scheduling, laying a feasible path for the high-quality development of agriculture in Northwest China.
The first stop of this conference is located in Bazhou, which has a special "return" significance. Bazhou is the place where Jifei's dream began. It was here that Jifei found the field where drone technology truly landed and continued to generate value - agriculture, exploring a path that no one had walked before. With a deeper understanding of agricultural production processes and field morphology, Jifei has further launched a series of intelligent agricultural robot products, such as agricultural unmanned vehicles, agricultural machinery self driving devices, and intelligent farm IoT products, based on the underlying technology of agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles. It is committed to enabling farmers to achieve more output with less input.
From intelligent products to smart farm IoT scenarios, every technological upgrade and product launch of Jifei is based on the real needs and expectations of farmers, allowing scarce human resources to be used in more critical decision-making processes. Currently, 90% of Jifei's users are ordinary farmers, family farms, and cooperatives. During the busy farming season, there are over 2 million extreme flying agricultural drones operating in the fields every day. As of March 17th, over 2500 farms have installed the Jifei Intelligent Water and Fertilizer Management System. Farmers do not need to frequently go to the fields, but can manage thousands of acres of land through the Jifei Farm APP, which is efficient and worry free.
The technological power of smart agriculture, which responds to the most real challenges faced by agriculture in Northwest China, is to cope with changing environments with limited resources and manage complex fields with less manpower. A full scenario, intelligent agricultural production solution that hides peace of mind in every aspect of water, fertilizer, and medicine inspections, allowing harvest to begin with every step empowered by technology.

Ai Haipeng shares super cotton field management model
In the field of cotton cultivation, Jifei Super Cotton Field, as the first unmanned cotton farm pilot project in China, managed 3000 acres of land by Ai Haipeng and Ling Lei, has verified the maturity of unmanned scale production of dryland economic crops. Through the automatic operation of agricultural machinery self driving devices, unmanned aerial vehicle AI patrols, and precise control of intelligent irrigation valvesfertilizer applicatorRemote automatic timed fertilization, agricultureweather stationWith the real-time monitoring of crop growth environment and status by intelligent cameras, 75% of cotton fields have achieved unmanned management. And to achieve all of this, a one-time investment of only 112 yuan per mu is required, and the subsequent average annual cost is only 36.5 yuan, which has solidly reduced costs and increased efficiency.
The long management period is all about the details of irrigation and fertilization. The low water utilization rate, uneven pressure, insufficient filtration, and unreasonable planning are the key issues that the Ai Haipeng team focuses on solving. They determine the irrigation cycle based on the daily water consumption of each growth stage of cotton, and input the water consumption per acre according to the water volume, making the water consumption of each plot of land clear and controllable. By equipping drip irrigation belts and laying out the pipeline network, the flow rate and water pressure can be clearly and controllably controlled, ensuring even irrigation; Carefully select small tees and filters to reduce water leakage and equipment failure rates.
User Liu Bo shares intelligent corn planting management
In the field of corn cultivation, Liu Bo, a farmer in Baicheng County, Aksu, was once a person who was "tied up" by 2000 acres of corn fields. The plots are scattered and the farthest distance is 50 kilometers, and every step of corn planting has extreme requirements for water and fertilizer. Traditional artificial irrigation is not only expensive and uneven, but also requires emergency response to abnormal water pressure at night, which is extremely passive and has many blind spots for inspection.
In 2025, Liu Bo introduced the Jifei Intelligent Water and Fertilizer Management System. Even if the corn grows tall and is blocked, the signal remains stable. One click rotation irrigation, automatic pressure adjustment, and abnormal warning on mobile phones not only liberate labor, but also save nearly 200 yuan in water and fertilizer costs per mu of land, increase production by more than 80 kilograms, and save over 100000 yuan per year.
User Tian Miao shares insights on the development of modern vineyards
In the field of grape cultivation, Tian Miao's 850 acre vineyard also benefits from intelligent transformation. The demand for water and fertilizer varies greatly among different growth stages of grapes, and if not properly controlled, it can affect the quality of the fruit. In addition, the flowering period is afraid of rain, young fruits are afraid of sun exposure, and mature fruits are afraid of water. Extreme weather can bring extremely high risks to planting. Jifei Intelligent Farm's IoT products have equipped vineyards with a "smart brain". Through precise water and fertilizer regulation, not only does it solve artificial dependence, but it also ensures fruit quality and yield in extreme weather conditions.
